Learning to send your hips back (unlocking at the hips) when bending forward or sitting down, versus unlocking at the knees, will take pressure off the knee and help you avoid irritations at the knee and keeping your knee pain from coming back time and time again.

  2. Mobilizing Your Ankles

    Mobility refers to a joints ability to achieve it’s full range of motion. Stiff ankles is one of the most common causes of knee pain that we see in the clinic. Mobility issues lead to compensation patterns that put more load on the knee. It also limits our ability to absorb ground forces leading to higher impact at the knee with each step.   3. Building STRONG Hips

    It’s also important to build strength to protect our joints. Most of the movement of our knee is controlled by muscles at the hip and any sort of deficiency, over time, will lead to more force at the knee and lead to knee pain that doesn’t go away with traditional therapies.
